Credo members having a special interest in liturgical matters will want to know that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have made the English translation of the Third Edition of the Ordinary Use (Mass of Paul VI ) of the Roman Missal available on this web page.
A cursory examination reveals that the translation is more literal: for example et cum spirito tuo is no longer paraphrased as and also with you. And pro multis is actually translated now: for many instead of editorialized-about with for all. They still cave in to the inclusive language crowd: the preferred word for fratres is brethern, but they'll permit brothers and sisters. The Roman Cannon (aka Eucharistic Prayer I) sounds fairly traditional again. All in all, an improvement.
