After working for a few years with Theater of the Word Incorporated (TWINC), Credo board member Tom Leith developed an interest in the intersection of faith and the arts. He was very fortunate to be permitted to work with TWINC and Joseph Pearce on EWTN’s Quest for Shakespeare program that explores the Catholic themes in Shakespeare’s plays and the reasons behind the way they’re expressed. Hint: it was illegal to be a Catholic in Elizabethan England, and there is no reasonable doubt but that Shakespeare was a Catholic.
Credo have been trying to think of how we could have different “kinds” of events in keeping with Credo’s educational mission that would appeal to current Credo members and be family friendly. Tom was speaking with Mustard Seed Theater’s Artistic Director Deanna Jent about this, and she suggested a “talkback” or discussion following one of the shows. She asked Dr. Randy Rosenberg, who now holds the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet Endowed Chair in Catholic Thought at Fontbonne to lead it, and now it is all set.
This event should be terrific for mid-teens on up. Tickets will be $20.
